Here are some simple snoring cures:
1. Tennis Ball – Most snoring occurs when a snorer is laying on their back. Gravity pulls loose tissues in the throat to the front of the airways. This leads to the vibrations and snoring sounds. Place a tennis ball in the back of the snorers T-shirt while they are on their side. If they try to roll to their back during sleep, the tennis ball will awaken them and the snorer will resume a side-ward position and unconsciously close his/her mouth.
2. Chin Strap – An open mouth casually causes pressure and constriction of the throat. When the throat is constricted, it vibrates more often, resulting in snoring. You can prevent this by using a chin strap which will insure a closed mouth while the person sleeps.
3. Herbal or nasal sprays – A dry throat can cause snoring, so herbal and nasal sprays can be an effective snoring cure by keeping tissues moist and limit vibrations.
4. Nasal strips – Keep the nasal passage open by placing the strip across the bridge of the snorer’s nose.
5. Pillows – There are pillows that can hold the neck and head align better.
6. Mouth Piece Device Snoring Cures – There are actually dental appliances known as mandibular advancement splints. They have been tested to be very effective as a snoring cure for snore victims. Made from small plastic devices worn in the mouth during sleep, they hinder the soft tissues from collapsing and blocking the airways. They do this by bringing the lower jaw foundation and lifting the soft palate. Some are able to keep the tongue from falling back over the windpipe.
A dentist will be the one to fit this special device to meet individual conditions because an impression of the snorer’s teeth will be required.
Unfortunately, this snoring cure has some side effects. Some mouth piece devices may cause teeth to shift and irritate the gums.
